We had a great experience with Pelagic Pools for our first pool install. The communication was great and they were always too happy to help. We also used all of their recommended trades who were equally reliable, friendly and very qualified. Would definitely recommend!

Can’t recommend Pelagic Pools more highly. The pool build process was smooth and issue free and they did a great job working around other trades (we built a house at the same time). What makes them stand out is the advice and assistance Nick and Rob provided throughout the process which they provided in a very timely manner. They helped us define a budget for pool landscaping using their contacts, helped us with un-biased advice on contractors (outside their scope), guided us on our “novel” pool fence solutions to ensure we were compliant and could keep hedges on the pool boundary rather than removing them. When it came to pool cleaning and commissioning, the team went over and above to get our pool cleaned and ready for use prior to Christmas even though they had a a lot of other jobs and could have easily pushed us into the new year. Great product and service and can’t rate them more highly.

I would definitely recommend Pelagic Pools — everyone was incredibly friendly, and it really felt like nothing was too much to ask.

I was honestly surprised by how easy the whole process was, and I’m so happy with how everything turned out.
Thanks again to Rob and the team!

2nd pool we’ve built through Rob and Nick. Extremely professional, communication was great, always returned calls and emails in a timely manner and very responsive to questions. Pool was installed within agrees time frames. Nick was flexible and happy to meet after hours and complete handover at a time that suited us.
Very pleased with the product and service and would highly recommend them. We had some very happy children swimming in time for summer.

We engaged Pelagic Pools to supply and install our new pool last year, the communication, supports and solutions given from Nick and Rob during each stage were incredible, the installation crew were professional and efficient, and the post-installation guidance provided after the handover were also very helpful and supportive. Our family have enjoyed the pool over the holiday break, it was fantastic.

A big thank you to Rob, Nick and the entire team!

We hired Pelagic pools to supply and install our new pool late last year.

We were pushing for time to have it installed and operating before the Christmas break.

The team delivered the pool and we got to enjoy it over the break which was awesome.

The install team were great, and the buisness side have been helpful in the handover and with the process moving into the completion and compliance.

Thanks Rob & Nick.

The Smart Choice

Why Build A Small Fibreglass Pool In Melbourne?

Perfect for Small & Narrow Blocks

Plunge pools, lap pools and slimline designs are built to fit courtyards, narrow side yards and compact backyards — ideal for Melbourne's townhouses, units and inner-suburban blocks.

Lower Cost, Same Quality

A smaller footprint means less excavation and material, bringing the cost of pool ownership within reach — without compromising on genuine Australian-made Barrier Reef fibreglass.

Quick Installation, Minimal Disruption

Less digging means less time spent with an open trench in your backyard. Small pools are among the fastest fibreglass installs we offer, so you're swimming sooner.

Low-Maintenance for Busy Lifestyles

A smaller volume of water means less time and chemicals spent on upkeep — while the smooth, non-porous gel coat still resists algae and staining, just like our full-size pools.

What counts as a "small pool" and what sizes do you offer?+
Our small pool range includes compact plunge pools, narrow lap pools and slimline designs, generally starting from just a few metres in length. They're built for courtyards, small backyards and narrow side yards where a full-size pool won't fit. Visit our display centre in Tyabb to see the range in person.
Can a small pool fit on a narrow block or small backyard?+
Yes — slimline and plunge pool designs are specifically shaped to fit narrow blocks, courtyards and compact backyards common in Melbourne's inner and south-eastern suburbs. Rob will assess your space on-site and recommend the best-fitting model.
How much does a small pool cost compared to a full-size pool?+
Small pools generally cost less than full-size pools thanks to reduced excavation, materials and installation time. Exact pricing depends on the model, site access and finishes, so we provide a clear, obligation-free quote after an on-site visit.
What's the difference between a plunge pool and a lap pool?+
A plunge pool is typically shorter and deeper, designed for cooling off and relaxing rather than swimming laps. A lap pool, like our slimline models, is longer and narrower, giving you room to exercise even in a compact footprint.
Do small pools still need council permits and fencing?+
Yes — Victorian pool safety regulations apply regardless of pool size. We manage all necessary council approvals, safety fencing requirements and compliance documentation as part of our service, so you don't have to navigate the paperwork yourself.
How long does it take to install a small pool?+
Thanks to their compact size, small pools are often among our quickest installs — typically completed in 6–12 days once your site is ready and permits are in place. From signing the contract, allow 8–12 weeks for manufacturing and approvals beforehand.
Can I still swim laps or exercise in a small pool?+
Absolutely — our Brampton Lap and slimline models are purpose-built for fitness swimming in a narrow footprint, so you don't need a full-size pool to get a proper workout at home.
Can I customise the design and colour of my small pool?+
Yes — every pool is made to order, so you can choose the exact model, shape and colour finish that works for your space. Browse our colour range online or visit the display centre to see finishes in person.
How do I get started with a small pool build?+
Simply contact us to book a free, no-obligation on-site consultation. Rob or a member of the team will visit your property, walk through the best-fitting small pool options, and provide a clear upfront quote — no pressure, no hidden costs.
